The History of Real Football
Real football has a long and rich history that spans across centuries and continents. The earliest evidence of a team game involving a ball dates back to ancient China, where a game called cuju was played as early as 200 BC. Cuju involved kicking a leather ball through a hole in a silk cloth stretched between two poles. Similar games were also played in ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt, Persia, Japan, and Mesoamerica.
The modern form of real football emerged in England in the mid-19th century, when various schools and clubs adopted common rules and regulations for playing the game. In 1863, the Football Association (FA) was founded as the first governing body of real football. The FA codified the rules of the game, such as banning handling the ball (except by the goalkeeper) and allowing free kicks for fouls. The FA also organized the first official competitions, such as the FA Cup (1871) and the Home Nations Championship (1883).
Real football soon spread to other parts of Europe and the world, thanks to trade, colonization, immigration, and communication. The first international match was played between England and Scotland in 1872. The first continental association was formed in South America in 1916. The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) was established in 1904 as the global governing body of real football. FIFA organized the first World Cup in 1930, which has since become the most prestigious and watched tournament in real football.

The Rules of Real Football
Real football is governed by a set of rules that are designed to ensure fair play and safety for all participants. The rules of real football are established and updated by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), which consists of representatives from FIFA and the four British associations (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland). The rules of real football are summarized below:
Each team consists of 11 players, one of whom is the goalkeeper. A team must have at least seven players to start or continue a match.
The pitch must be rectangular and marked with lines. The length of the touchline must be greater than the length of the goal line. The dimensions of the pitch vary depending on the level of play, but generally range from 90 to 120 meters in length and 45 to 90 meters in width.
The goal is placed at the center of each goal line and consists of two upright posts joined by a horizontal crossbar. The distance between the posts is 7.32 meters and the distance from the lower edge of the crossbar to the ground is 2.44 meters.
The ball must be spherical and made of leather or another suitable material. It must have a circumference of 68 to 70 centimeters and a weight of 410 to 450 grams at the start of the match.
The duration of a match is 90 minutes, divided into two halves of 45 minutes each. There is an interval of not more than 15 minutes between the halves. The referee may add extra time at the end of each half to compensate for any lost time due to stoppages.
A coin toss decides which team kicks off first and which goal each team attacks in the first half. The team that wins the toss chooses which goal to attack or to kick off first. The other team takes the remaining option. The teams change ends and attack the opposite goals in the second half.
A goal is scored when the whole of the ball crosses over the goal line between the posts and under the crossbar, provided that no offense has been committed by the team scoring the goal.
An offside offense occurs when a player is in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a teammate and is involved in active play by interfering with play or an opponent or gaining an advantage by being in that position. A player is in an offside position if any part of their head, body or feet is nearer to their opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent.
A foul is an unfair action that a player commits against an opponent or the ball that interferes with play or endangers safety. Fouls are penalized with either a direct free kick, an indirect free kick, or a penalty kick depending on the type and location of the offense.
A direct free kick is awarded when a player commits a foul outside their own penalty area that involves physical contact with an opponent or prevents a clear goal-scoring opportunity. The kick is taken from where the offense occurred and can be shot directly into the goal.
An indirect free kick is awarded when a player commits a foul outside their own penalty area that does not involve physical contact with an opponent or prevents a clear goal-scoring opportunity. The kick is taken from where Continuing the article: the offense occurred and cannot be shot directly into the goal. The ball must touch another player before it can enter the goal.
A penalty kick is awarded when a player commits a foul inside their own penalty area that involves physical contact with an opponent or prevents a clear goal-scoring opportunity. The kick is taken from the penalty mark, which is 11 meters from the center of the goal line. Only the kicker and the goalkeeper are allowed in the penalty area until the kick is taken.
The referee is the official who enforces the rules of the game and controls the match. The referee has the authority to start and stop play, award free kicks and penalty kicks, caution or send off players, and use video assistant referee (VAR) technology to review decisions. The referee is assisted by two assistant referees who signal offsides, fouls, throw-ins, corner kicks, and goal kicks. The referee may also be assisted by a fourth official who manages substitutions, extra time, and other administrative matters.
